The incident led to the arrest of a woman on suspicion of assault. The woman, whose identity has been kept confidential, has been released on bail. Previous discord between the black community and some local traders has been suggested, highlighting the sensitive nature of the occurrence.
The resultant protest led to temporary closure of the roadway. However, regular traffic has resumed after the Metropolitan Police stepped in, urging both protestors and locals to maintain peace.
