Woman dies after being struck by motorist in Pointe Claire Friday night

A 47-year-old woman died after being struck by a car while crossing the street at the intersection of Brunswick Boulevard and Fairview Street in the Pointe-Claire area in the evening.

A 74-year-old motorist heading west on Brunswick Boulevard struck the pedestrian, who was thrown to the ground. The lady was unconscious at the arrival of the paramedics and transported to the hospital. She eventually died as a result of her injuries.

The driver was interviewed by police investigators. Accident reconstruction experts were dispatched to try to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy.
