Winnipeg’s 23rd Homicide: 23-Year-Old Victim Succumbs to Gunshot Wound, Killers Still at Large


In the early hours of Sunday morning, within the confines of Winnipeg city, a chilling occurrence unfolded, marking the grim tally of the 23rd homicide for the year. The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) detailed that it was approximately 12:45 a.m. when the call came through. Responding swiftly, officers rushed to the scene on the 500 block of Mountain Avenue, following a distressing report of a man shot and in dire condition.

Upon their arrival, the officers were confronted with a horrifying sight. A 23-year-old man, found at the scene, was struggling against the creeping cold of a gunshot wound. With urgency, he was transported to the hospital under critical condition. Despite the tireless efforts of the medical team, he succumbed to the nefarious injuries that had been inflicted upon him.
