Following an intensive investigation in possession and transmission of child pornography, a 63-year-old male was recently apprehended by the Windsor Police Department.
The inquiry was initiated earlier in March when the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit received tips that a suspect might be involved in illicit activity involving the uploading and distribution of child pornography over the internet.
As the investigation evolved, local law enforcement obtained and executed a search warrant on September 12th at a dwelling in the 200 block of Bayberry Crescent, Belle River. The search resulted in the confiscation of numerous electronic devices, including computers, hard drives, and mobile phones – all potential repositories and distributors of damaging contraband.
On the final day of October, the elderly suspect was detained by officers. The charges listed against him include multiple counts of possessing, accessing, and transmitting child pornography.
