A duo has been held accountable with charges of manslaughter and neglecting the obligation to provide life’s essentials, almost a year following the fatal event of an infant in Windsor.
The incident dates back to the morning of September 14, 2022, just a little past 8 a.m. It was then that emergency medical personnel were beckoned to a residence within the confines of Ford City and discovered a distressing scene. A baby of merely nine months of age exhibited no signs of life.
Upon discovery, the infant was hurriedly transported to the hospital. But the exhaustive exertions of the medical team were in vain, ultimately leading to the declaration of the baby’s unfortunate demise.
In response to this tragic incident, the Major Crimes Unit of the Windsor Police launched an extensive in-depth investigation. As part of this inquiry, an autopsy was carried out at the London Health Sciences Centre. These efforts culminated in drawing significant conclusions.
Upon completion of the investigation, a woman of 29 years and man aged 28 years were detained, standing accused with charges of manslaughter and omission to provide life’s basic necessities. In the interest of shielding the victim’s identity, the police have chosen to withhold the names of the accused parties.
In its official statement, Windsor Police confirmed that no further details regarding this case will be disclosed at this moment.
