Winter is in full swing here in Montreal, and the West Island is ready to celebrate the season. Kirkland, DDO and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue will all be holding their annual Winter Carnival this upcoming weekend, and all are invited to join the festivities.
DDO Winter Carnival
Come out this Saturday, February 2nd, as the city of Dollard-des-Ormeaux will kick off its winter festivities. This free event will be held from 4:00-8:00 PM in Centennial Park.
You will be treated to a DJ and light show, a shining path, a heated igloo, a bonfire, and even horse-drawn carriage rides! Food and taffy will be available for purchase, and guests will be invited to go skating with members of DDO’s various associations.
For more information about DDO’s Winter Carnival, consult the event’s website.
Kirkland Winter Carnival Family Day and Dinner Show
Families all over the West Island are also invited to attend Kirkland’s Winter Carnival! Kirkland begins celebrating the winter season on Thursday and Friday with family outdoor challenges, a seniors social lunch and a family bingo, though the big event will be held this upcoming Saturday, February 2nd, with a family day, dinner show and dance night.
Families will be invited to Meades Park from 11:30-3:30 for inflatable games, sleigh rides, music and entertainment. There will also be a figure skating show and face painting indoors!
On Saturday evening, the city hosts a comedy and magic show and serves up a delicious buffet dinner. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the Sports Complex. Consult Kirkland’s website for more information about this week of festivities!
All-Out in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue
The city of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue is hosting a wide range of activities for families, hockey fans and adults. The action starts on Friday, February 1st, at Harpell Park with a Family Hockey Night from 6:30-8:00. Play on the rink or in the parking lot! Don’t forget to bring your equipment and helmets!
Saturday will also be a big day, as all are invited to go dog-sledding at the Morgan Arboretum, purchase goods at the boardwalk, partake in a Carnival Bed Race (kind of like bobsled) at Cunningham’s Pub and dance and party while taking in the fireworks at Town Hall in the evening!
Of course, Aumais Park will be hosting its annual Fête des Neiges from 1:00-4:00 PM from Friday to Sunday, where tons of activities and food will be on offer! Find out more on the city of Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue’s website!
It’s going to be snowy this weekend, so make as many snowmen as you can and enjoy the outdoors!
