Two Alberta government ministers are traveling to Texas to engage with police and justice officials to exchange ideas and strategies for enhancing public safety. Public Safety Minister Mike Ellis and Justice Minister Mickey Amery aim to leverage these discussions in developing future policies or programs beneficial to Alberta. Their itinerary includes meetings with the Dallas Police Department, state prosecuting attorneys, emergency management officials, and drug trafficking investigators. Amery expressed that Alberta and Texas share a similar history and values, while Ellis emphasized the importance of keeping an open mind on public safety matters. The ministers have scheduled four days of meetings, concluding on January 9.
