Westside Gathering Celebrates New Location With Launch Party

Location, location, location!
So often you hear a business use this phrase to describe more attractive opportunities for their growth.

What might this possibly mean for a church? The essence of a church is people, not buildings. It’s who and what the church is about, not the place they meet. And yet we know that space can be filled with purpose and meaning and intentionality.

Our church has been mobile for 15 years. Even without a building, we have had so much opportunity to engage people, serve the community, partner with local schools, throw community BBQs attracting hundreds of people, nurture spiritual growth, and inviting people into a refreshing experience of faith and community.

We’ve used schools, gyms, cafeterias, community centres, and even rented other church buildings.

Despite all the great opportunities of being mobile, we’ve had a growing vision to be rooted in our neighbourhood and city through a more stable and active location. We’ve recently leased some larger office and warehouse space and renovated it into something we are very excited about. A space that we can use anytime for our gatherings and initiatives, but just as well partner with local community groups and businesses. It’s part church, local center, non-profit-space, event venue, and more. In fact, we’re already committed to hosting West Island Mission’s holiday toy day in December.

Westside Gathering has officially moved to 820 Tecumseh Avenue, Pointe-Claire (corner of Brunswick).

Sunday, November 18, we’re throwing a launch party.

Doors open at 10:00 a.m. with breakfast snacks and an espresso bar on site (courtesy of Tazza di Mattina in Roxboro). Our Celebration Gathering starts at 10:30 a.m. with a mix of live music, interviews, an inspiring message, and an engaging kids program (ages 2-12) happening simultaneously. Lunch starts shortly afterwards for anyone available to stick around.

We’d love to meet some new people on the 18th. Everyone is welcome. If you’re not available on this date, come by another time, we’ll be rooted in this location for many years!
