Have many of us become apathetic about looking for a deeper life or experience beyond what we can touch or see? Lots of us spend time looking for the best mortgage rate, read through Amazon reviews for our next frying pan, or fine-tune our food choices to a healthy amount of grams of fibre and sugar, but leave little time for some bigger questions.

Is life really meant to be void of all spiritual bearings?

We experience a loss… find ourselves unable to forgive… struggle to find meaning in a recent achievement… discover some ugly parts of our soul we don’t have the capacity to deal with… or find ourselves going back to some ancient questions about suffering, spirituality, faith or God.

There is a great place to process those questions. It’s called Alpha!

Alpha is for the curious, the seeking, or even the believer looking for an authentic conversation about their own questions.  It is a series of sessions exploring the basics of faith and life. Typically run over 10 weeks, each session looks at a different question around life and faith.

Food – Most sessions start with food because it’s a great way to connect and get to know everyone in the group.

Talk – The talks and personal stories (in the form of engaging videos) explore the basics of the Christian faith and are designed to inspire conversation. Usually around thirty minutes long.

Conversation – There is a discussion after the talk where you can share your thoughts and ideas on the topic of each session.

Westside Gathering is hosting a session this winter. Anyone is welcome to join the intro session with no commitment for the whole course. Whether someone is ready to follow fully or simply explore the first session, all are welcome!  Please RSVP so we can prepare well.
