Authorities in Manitoba have added a few mote Winnipeg neighborhoods to the list of places where adults can seek and get immunized.
The areas that health officials added Tuesday include St, vital North, Seven Oaks East, and River East South.
The St. Vital North Zone includes the north of St. Vital, Red River, Carriere Avenue, and Seine River.
The River East South area includes Elmwood, whereas the Seven Oaks zone covers the northwest, West Red River including Garden City and West Kildonan.
These are will be among the last zones earmarked for priority immunization access, this is according to Dr. Joss Reimer, head of the provincial immunization implementation task force. He spoke during Monday’s press briefing.
Other than residents, all persons working in hot spot zones including convenience store operators, teachers, and restaurant employees are now eligible to book immunization appointments at a clinic, supersite, or pop-up clinic.
In all, Manitoba has 14 areas where people can seek priority immunization. All persons working or residing in the north Health zone qualify.
In other areas of Manitoba, eligibility for the Pfizer vaccine still stands at 50 or 18 and above for indigenous members.
All 40-year-old persons and those in the 30 to 39 age bracket with specific health concerns also qualify to be immunized with AstraZeneca and can obtain doses at medical clinics and pharmacies.
