West Island’s Benoit Langevin of AJOI wins Mayor’s democracy prize

The co-founder and CEO of AJOI, Benoit Langevin won the 2015 Montreal democracy prize from the mayor, Denis Coderre on December 8th. 

This award aims to honour a citizen whose actions contributed to strengthening democracy in Montreal. It is the fourth edition of this annual award.

Since 2007, Benoit Langevin is working hard to bring the voices of marginalized and troubled youth to the decisions makers at all levels to improve the quality of life of the youth and break the denial of poverty in the West Island of Montreal, which represents 30% of the island.

Benoit also won the United way Solidaire Nextgen Prize in 2012 and won the 2nd place (Runner-up) for the 2014 Everyday Political Citizen organized by Samara Canada in December 2014.
