On Sunday evening, over 100 participants attended the West Island Black Community Association‘s second town hall event. Public Officials from the federal, provincial and municipal levels of government were in attendance. The topics discussed included education, law, politics, youth and social initiative.

The purpose of WIBCA’s Town Hall II was to receive tangible action plans from public officials to correct the effects of overt and systemic racism currently plaguing the Black community in the West Island.

The discussion was moderated by Elysia Bryan-Banes and featured a powerful conversation between elected officials and members of the community. Officials were asked to provide an update on their progress resolving issues mentioned in WIBCA’s previous town hall event.
