The West Island Mission is busy organizing its annual Holiday Basket distribution for underprivileged families in the West Island with the support of local businesses, charitable organizations, associations and the community at large.

The Christmas Basket distribution will take place on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 (10h-14h00) at Westview Bible Church in Pierrefonds (16789 Pierrefonds Blvd). This year over 250 families and their children will receive baskets filled with well-balanced food and gifts to help them out during a time of year when the financial strain is often the most difficult. Drivers to the event are most welcome! It’s a fantastic way to give back to your community and start the Holiday season.

Our annual “Toy Giveaway” will also be taking place in early December, parents of our registered families have been invited to come out on Saturday, Dec 7th and choose toys for their own children.  After all, who knows better what will light up the eyes of their kids. Many children would otherwise go without over the holidays!

Funds collected by the West Island Mission are spent entirely on supporting the community we serve.

There is still a need for drivers to help with delivering the baskets on Saturday, Dec 14th.  People interested in helping can contact info@wimmoi.org  for more details.

Should the public wish to donate for these events, you can “sponsor a turkey for $25” directly through WIM’s website at www.wimmoi.org or by sending a cheque to West Island Mission at PO Box 46539, RPO boul St. Jean, Pierrefonds, QC H9H 5G9 (financial donations of $20 or greater will be issued a tax receipt) or donate non-perishable food or toys.  Food & toys can be dropped off at the West Island Mission warehouse Monday, Tuesday & Thursday afternoons from 1-4pm until Dec 20th and then again, starting on Jan 6th, 2020. (219 Labrosse, Pointe-Claire H9R 1A3).  Contact the West Island Mission at info@wimmoi.org  or 514-912-6813 to arrange a drop-off.
