The tradition continues with West Island Citizen Advocacy’s (WICA) 24th Annual Garden Tour! This year, the event will take place on Saturday, July 8th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be held in the Baie D’Urfe, Senneville and Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue regions thanks to community-minded volunteers and organizations who have opened their gardens to visitors.
Since 1976, WICA has been providing essential services such as practical, emotional and social support to the most vulnerable members of the community through a number of programs such as; matching one-to-one with volunteers, a semi-supervised housing program for residents living with mental health issues, defense of rights just to mention a few. With cuts to health and social services, more and more marginalized citizens are reaching out to WICA for support. By raising money through fundraisers such as the Annual Garden Tour they can ensure that they have the financial resources needed to continue reaching out to the community.
Tickets for the event are $25 and can be purchased at the WICA office located at 68 Prince Edward in Pointe-Claire, or at Fleurifik in Vallois Village, or at Dix Milles Village and Westmount Florist in Pointe Claire Village.
