The sun was shining and people were smiling at the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre this past
Tuesday, June 26. The celebration, sponsored by Century 21 Royale Prestige’s Andrea Katz, was well attended by a community devoted to the little yellow house that could.
The next step for the Centre will be to offer a “Living Well With Cancer Network” for anyone looking for support on their journey through cancer in Quebec. One in two Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their life creating boom in clients for the litte yellow house that opened in Beaconsfield in 2008. Last year, after a successful capital campaign the community cheered when the free services would now be located in Kirkland in a brand new larger space.
“The goal is to be there for anyone who has cancer and help them navigate the system of resources that are available,” said founder, Debbie Magwood.
Many local VIP’s came out to enjoy the celebration including MP Francis Scarpalegia, MP Frank Bayliss and Media personality Tracey Mckee who writes a blog called In The Pink.
