With the final months in the little yellow house in Beaconsfield quickly passing, West Island Cancer Wellness Centre (WICWC) was happy to receive financial support from Desjardins.  Under their campaign “Coopérer pour creer un avenir” or Cooperate for the future, Desjardins presented to WICWC a cheque to help with the organization’s mission to provide compassionate care and support to cancer patients and their loved ones  on July 22.

WICWC plays a key role in providing comfort and support through professional guidance, personalized programs, seminars, art, yoga, meditation and more.

Founder and Executive Director Debbie Magwood and WICWC Board member Mr. Nault thanked Desjardins for its valuable contribution which, along with generous donations received from all the organization’s other partners, enables the WICWC to offer daily programs and services free of charge.

“Without the support of sponsors like this we simply could not continue to provide these much needed services to the comunity,” Magwood stated.

The official cheque presentation ceremony took place in front of the WICWC’s home in Beaconsfield for just a few more months. Next fall, the centre will be moving to a new, more spacious location in Kirkland.
