The Washington Commanders announced on Wednesday that they have suspended an employee following the release of an undercover video featuring the individual making derogatory remarks about players and fans. The video, posted on social media by O’Keefe Media Group, showcases Vice President of Content Rael Enteen describing some players as “dumb” and “homophobic” and characterizing fans as “high school-educated alcoholics” and “mouth breathers.”

A spokesperson for the team issued a statement saying, “The language used in the video runs counter to our values at the Commanders organization.” The spokesperson added that further comment would be withheld at this time.

James O’Keefe, who founded the media group last year, informed The Associated Press via phone that the footage was captured during two dates in June in Washington. He disclosed that Enteen and the woman who filmed the encounters initially met through a dating app.

The video also features Enteen criticizing NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Enteen referred to Goodell as “a $50 million puppet” and dismissed the league’s social justice initiatives as merely performative. He further alleged that Jones “hates gay people and Black people.”

Requests for comments sent to a league spokesperson and the Dallas Cowboys went unanswered.
