This year marks the 21st annual Novartis Community Partnership Day, coinciding with the anniversary of the company’s founding. Over 24,500 Novartis employees in 52 countries participated in a wide range of volunteer activities to support communities where their offices are located.
The volunteer placements in the West Island, Montreal, and off-island are organized annually for the Dorval-based Novartis head office through Volunteer West Island’s Corporate Volunteer Recruitment Program. VWI worked again in collaboration with Lorraine-Noelle Pellicone, Corporate Communications Agent and the Novartis Corporate Communications Team.
Over 120 enthusiastic company volunteers lent a hand at nine community groups that provide crucial services to residents. These included Le Nichoir; l’Armée du salut; Héritage Laurentien; Moisson Montreal; Omega Community Resources; WIAIH; Welcome Hall Mission; West Island Cancer Wellness Centre; West Island Palliative Care Residence. In addition, they collected used printer cartridges and phones to finance guide dogs for the MIRA Foundation, toiletries and other items for residents of the long-term care facility Denis-Benjamin Viger, and prom dresses and accessories for underprivileged high school seniors for the group Fées Marraines.
Novartis associates are very proud to take part in our annual Community Partnership Day. This year, our associates provided volunteer support to nine remarkable volunteer organizations in the Montreal area. We couldn’t organize this day without the invaluable help of Volunteer West Island who play a critical role in connecting us with the organizations. We look forward to continuing this important partnership for many years to come.”
