Vaudreuil-Soulanges MP to host town hall meeting to discuss the legalization and strict regulation of cannabis

Member of Parliament for Vaudreuil-Soulanges and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister for Youth, Peter Schiefke, will be hosting a public town hall meeting to discuss the legalization and strict regulation of cannabis in Canada on Tuesday, August 22nd from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Opti-Centre, located at 145, Harwood blvd. in Vaudreuil-Dorion.

Mr. Schiefke will be joined by the Member of Parliament for Louis-Hébert and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health, Joël Lightbound to address constituents’ concerns regarding the legalization and strict regulation of cannabis.


‘’The health and safety of all Canadians is of primary importance to our Government, especially that of our children and young adults. Our legislation will strengthen existing drug-impaired driving laws and create stricter penalties for selling cannabis products to those under the age of eighteen’’ said Schiefke.

Parliamentary Secretaries Schiefke and Lightbound will discuss the proposed legislation surrounding the use and availability of cannabis. This event is open to residents of all ages of Vaudreuil-Soulanges. A question period will follow the discussion.
