Grateful for the recognition, Usher humbly acknowledged the accolade. “I appreciate your commitment to the future, and the ability to identify those factors that foster growth in your city,” Raymond expressed during the ceremony. “I am not just an entertainer, but a contributor to the city’s vitality.”
The Atlanta-born star has made Las Vegas his home since early 2022. Designing his own haven in the city, he declared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “We have carved our own niche in this sky-high mansion in the heart of the city. It’s a thrill to be in the thick of all the action and then return home to your family.”
Usher, nicknamed by GQ as the New King of Vegas, will wrap up his nearly two-year residency at the Park MGM with a final ‘My Way’ performance on December 2, 2023. This will conclude his spectacular run that included a year at Caesars Palace. Recently, the eight-time Grammy Winner was proclaimed as the headliner for next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, set to take place in Las Vegas on February 11.
