In collaboration with Volunteer West Island’s Corporate Volunteer Program, a team of enthusiastic UPS volunteers recently gave of their time and talents, helping out at a special annual Breakfast at The Teapot 50 Plus Centre in Lachine. Judy Martini, Volunteer Support Coordinator at the Teapot, welcomed them warmly, praising their industry and effectiveness, “It’s always a pleasure having UPS volunteers – extra hands make lighter work for all of us! Definitely keeping you in mind for future events!”
The Teapot, celebrating 40 years of service, is a community centre for people 50 years of age or over. It provides social, recreational and educational activities on a daily basis, as well as information and referral, home care/meal service for elderly shut-ins, social, cultural, educational, and leisure programs, and promotes community, volunteer, and intergenerational involvement opportunities.
Rafik Morcos, UPS Customer Solutions Program Management Director (pictured front row, far right), spoke highly of his team’s experience, “I would like to thank you again for giving us the chance to spend time at The Teapot. I know the UPS Team had a great time setting up, cooking, and assisting in every way to bring success. We look forward to future volunteering events”.
