An emergency room nurse at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Pointe Claire, who was yet to be immunized has tested positive for the Coronavirus while a patient she was caring for is showing symptoms.
According to the spokesperson for the CIUSSS de l’Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, the nurse had not been immunized, but was following all COVID-19 protocols, including screening thrice each week.
The CIUSSS said it is looking into the matter to find out if there exists an epidemiological connection the patient symptoms and the nurse’s case.
This news follows a recent announcement that all health care worker must be immunized starting in October.
