Two police officers sustained critical injuries following a car-ramming incident in Nelson early Wednesday morning. The incident, which occurred at a gathering in the Buxton Square Carpark at approximately 2:10 am, also left another person seriously injured. According to Police Commissioner Richard Chambers, the police vehicle was struck by a civilian-driven car. All injured parties were transported to Nelson Hospital for treatment. The vehicle’s driver has been taken into custody and is set to face charges. Authorities have cordoned off Buxton Square for a thorough scene examination.
