About 150 young football players from across Alberta gathered for a special training camp with current and former Edmonton Elks players. Held in Edmonton, the camp offered the young athletes a chance to enhance their skills under the guidance of professional players. The event, organized by Jason Staroszik of New World Agency, was initially meant to be a one-time affair when it started in 2017. However, due to its popularity, it has become an annual event eagerly anticipated by the participants and coaches alike.

This year’s training focused on improving drills, techniques, and sportsmanship. Among the coaches were Elks alumnus Ryan King and current quarterback Tre Ford, both of whom emphasized the importance of mentorship within the community. King expressed the value of giving back, recalling the positive influence of his high school role model. Ford, eager to inspire the upcoming generation, spoke about the significance of setting athletes up for success.

The two-day camp not only provided skill development but also encouraged young players to build a strong foundation for their future in football.
