For the 17th consecutive draw, there was no winner for the massive $70 million Lotto Max jackpot, but several lucky individuals in eastern Ontario managed to scoop up significant prizes.

On Tuesday night, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) announced that the coveted $70 million prize remained unclaimed. However, a number of Maxmillions and other substantial prizes found their way into the hands of ticket holders across the province, particularly in eastern Ontario.

A standout moment came from Kingston, where a Maxmillions ticket worth $1 million was sold, catapulting a lucky resident into newfound wealth. Similarly, another $1 million Maxmillions ticket was sold in the Prince Edward/Hastings County area, adding more excitement to the local community.

Renfrew County also had reason to celebrate as a Maxmillions ticket worth $333,333 was sold in the area, contributing to the region’s share of the night’s winnings.

To ensure no prize goes unnoticed, OLG advises all participants to check their tickets using the OLG app or by visiting an authorized retailer.

Anticipation is already building for the next Lotto Max draw, scheduled for Friday, which will again feature a $70 million jackpot, along with 42 additional Maxmillions prizes set at $1 million each.

Among those basking in the glow of a recent win is Steven Williams from Kingston. Williams, who has been playing the lottery for about 15 years, recently discovered he had won $1 million in the July 26 Lotto Max draw. Williams recalled the moment he and his sister realized their luck with astonishment.

“My sister was quick to say, ‘I’ve never met a lottery winner before!’ and we all shared a laugh,” said Williams while collecting his prize at the OLG Prize Centre.

Describing it as a “great feeling,” Williams admitted he has not yet decided how to spend his windfall. “I haven’t even thought about it yet! I still don’t think it has fully registered,” he remarked.

Even with no jackpot winner, the excitement continues to build as more participants hope to become the next Lotto Max millionaire.
