Operations at Halifax Stanfield International Airport have returned to normal following an aircraft incident that temporarily halted all flights on Saturday night. The incident occurred when an Air Canada Express flight, operated by Pal Airlines from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, experienced a suspected issue with its landing gear upon arrival at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Air Canada spokesperson Peter Fitzpatrick reported that the aircraft was unable to reach the terminal, necessitating the offloading of 73 passengers and crew by bus. While no serious injuries were reported, the Nova Scotia RCMP, who responded along with paramedics, indicated there were minor injuries. Following the incident, one of the airport’s runways resumed regular operations once clearance was given that airfield activities could proceed safely. The exact cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
