In the wake of Thompson’s recent homicide, local Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have apprehended two suspects and are vigorously pursuing two additional individuals.
The incident transpired on August 30, within the confines of an Ashberry Place residence. The unfortunate victim, a 33-year-old man, sustained severe gunshot wounds. Despite being promptly transported to a nearby hospital, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Law enforcement investigations have revealed that this event evolved from a dispute involving six men at an apartment complex, which tragically culminated in the fatal shooting. Within the altercation party, RCMP have managed to arrest two individuals – a 26-year-old Oxford House native, now facing second-degree murder charges, and a 20-year-old Thompson local, under arrest for robbery and assault charges. However, it remains paramount to note that these charges are accusations and must be verified in a court of law.
The RCMP are currently on the quest to bring in two other suspects, for whom they have issued arrest warrants. One of the suspects, a 16-year-old male, also from Oxford House, is sought for charges revolving around manslaughter and armed robbery. Simultaneously, the police have disclosed the identity of the fourth suspect, known to be 34-year-old Ashley Clipping from Winnipeg.
The RCMP earnestly encourage any individuals acquainted with the suspects’ potential locations to come forward and share this information by directly reaching out to the Thompson RCMP on 204-677-6909 or to relay this crucial information anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1-800-222-8477.
The local RCMP assures that further details pertaining to the 16-year-old suspect will be disclosed as and when such information becomes attainable.
