Two Of Three Men Charged With Kidnapping Of 16 Year Old Girl Are Brothers Of Alleged Victim

Three individuals who police arrested because of their connection with a recent Amber Alert involving a Montréal girl aged 16 were present before a court Wednesday to answer to charges including unlawful confinement, kidnapping as well as assault.

Two of the individuals are aged 21, while the third is a 22-year-old, police said. Also, two of the men are brothers of the girl.

On Tuesday, police issued an Amber Alert at about 6:20 am, but canceled it about 40 minutes later after the girl surfaced at a local police station.

Police spokesperson, Manuel Couture, said officers that their officer got a 911 call at about 11:05 pm, on Monday, regarding a quarrel between a teenage girl and a man outside a restaurant along the Saint-Charles Boulevard Street, Kirkland.

One of three accused forced the 16-year-old into a parked car and sped off before police reached the scene.

Her brothers are facing unlawful confinement, kidnapping as well as mischief. The third accomplice was charged with unlawful confinement and kidnapping, Directeur des poursuites criminelles et pénales said.
