Former President Donald Trump holds a narrow lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in a recent poll of likely Nevada voters, released on Tuesday. The poll, conducted by CNN, shows 48% of likely voters backing Trump for the presidency, while Harris garners 47% support, placing the results within the poll’s margin of error.
The poll delves deeply into voter demographics. Among Nevada women, support is nearly split: 51% favor Harris, whereas 46% lean towards Trump. Trump maintains a more significant lead among white men, with 56% to Harris’s 41%. Similarly, white women prefer Trump by a margin of 54% to 42%.
Hispanic voters in Nevada show an almost even split, with 48% supporting Harris and 47% backing Trump. Both campaigns are actively courting the Hispanic vote, which is substantial, given that Hispanics and Latinos comprise about 28.3% of Nevada’s population according to the 2020 Census, and roughly 20% of the state’s registered voters.
Younger voters under 35 lean towards Harris, with 53% support compared to Trump’s 39%. Independent voters show a slight preference for Harris at 46%, while 43% favor Trump.
On key issues, Trump is preferred over Harris in handling immigration, the economy, and foreign policy. Harris, however, is more trusted to address abortion rights. The poll, involving 683 registered voters, was conducted via phone and online between October 21 and 26, with a margin of error of 4.6 points.
The race has also captured the attention of the betting community. Trump’s probability to win stands at 62% on Kalshi and 66% on Polymarket as of Monday. In Canada, OLG’s Proline indicates that 52% of betting money is on Trump, with 35% on Harris. Odds from major sportsbooks reflect a competitive race: BetVictor has Trump at -188 and Harris at +150. BetMGM lists Trump at -189 and Harris at +150. Proline offers Trump at -182 and Harris at +145, while FanDuel Canada shows Trump at -196 and Harris at +158.
Both candidates are ramping up their campaigns in Nevada, a crucial swing state. They plan appearances in Clark County on Thursday, Halloween. Trump is set to speak at Lee’s Family Forum at 3:30 p.m., while Harris will address supporters at an undisclosed Las Vegas location between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., with a rally featuring a performance by Mexican pop band Maná.
Many voters are already casting their ballots, taking advantage of Nevada’s early voting setup. This intensified campaigning underscores the significance of Nevada in the upcoming Election Day on Tuesday, November 5.
