In the quiet neighborhood of Taita situated in Lower Hutt, a tragedy unfolded at the Poole Street house, permeating each brick and stone. While the echoes of events that consumed this unassuming property might have faded over time, the effects of the incident have left a ripple in the community, riveting yet perturbing. The residence, a rather ordinary abode, were the backdrop to the life of a toddler Ruthless-Empire, who was brutally injured and unfortunately succumbed to his wounds.

The inhabitants of this house included three individuals – Rosie Morunga, Dylan Ross, and Ruthless-Empire’s mother, Storm Angel Wall. Each of them has come under the gaze of the authorities, yet none have been charged for the incident. An heavy air of mystery envelopes the home, more than a week since the toddler’s demise.

Ruthless-Empire’s life was cut short just mere days before he could celebrate his second birthday, his innocent life extinguished brutally by a “blunt force trauma”. The news sent waves of shock and sorrow through the community.

Throughout the week, the authorities descended upon the Poole St house, conducting their investigations to unravel the heartbreaking event. A house once echoing with the jovial laughter of toddler lay silent, save for the sounds of various assortments of furniture and children’s toys that lay strewn about.

Upgrading their investigation to a homicide inquiry, the police began their harrowing analysis of what might have lead to the toddler’s fatal injuries. The pursuit led them to those who shared the toddler’s last known residence and were possibly present during the incident – Morunga, Ross, and Wall. One of them a direct relative, and the other two part of the extended kin.

What entailed was a series of interrogations, appeals for information, and an exhaustive search for truth in the wake of such traumatizing events. The public, too, took to Morunga’s social media, seeking answers, expressing their grief and demanding justice for the toddler’s untimely and tragic demise.

Beyond the walls of the Poole St house, rumors and speculation abound. Claims of the toddler choking on his breakfast circulated, but police later confirmed that the cause of death was indeed the result of “blunt force trauma”. Any implications of ingested wet wipes contributing to his tragic end were firmly refuted.

The emotional toll this incident took on the family and community was immeasurable. Sarah Reremoana, Ruthless-Empire’s great-aunt, expressed her horror and heartbreak, deeply aggrieved by such an unthinkable act of violence against an innocent life. Amid her sorrow, she voiced the anguish of a family left shattered and bereft.

As the community rallied together to support the grieving family, a fund page was initiated by Ruthless-Empire’s uncle, Ngatanahira Reremoana to help shoulder the funeral costs. However, this tragic tale remains without a fitting closure. The police are left with the enormous task of making sense of this heartbreaking event, their investigation still being ongoing, as they endeavour to furnish clarity to the incident and seek justice for Ruthless-Empire.
