Police are conducting an investigation following the discovery of a woman’s body in the water at the Foxton Beach boat ramp, situated 35 kilometers southwest of Palmerston North. The body was reported early on Saturday morning at 6:45 AM. In response, local iwi have imposed a rāhui, a form of customary prohibition, on the area for three days, according to the Horowhenua District Council. Authorities have identified the deceased woman and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding her death while notifying her next of kin.
