While the snow keeps falling, the winter festivals and activities never seem to stop for families throughout the West Island. This weekend features more fun outdoor activities, and with the amount of snow we saw this past week along with a sunny weekend, it may be the best weekend yet to enjoy the outdoors.
Lachine’s Winter Party
This Saturday, February 16th, Lachine will host their annual winter festival at Grovehill Park. The event will feature entertainment throughout the afternoon and include an interactive percussion show, a music show featuring the beloved Caillou (who all will then be invited to meet in person!), and tons of other fun winter activities.
Of course, all participants will be rewarded with some hot chocolate and the chance to roast some marshmallows over the fire!
Head down to Grovehill Park from 1:00-5:00 for some family fun! More information is available on the borough of Lachine’s website.
Rigaud’s Festival Glisse et Réglisse
The city of Rigaud has a full day of outdoor activities planned for this upcoming Saturday! The city Glisse et Réglisse festival provides entertainment for the whole family from early afternoon until late in the evening.
There will be varied entertainment suited for members of the entire family of all ages. There will be igloos, a big slide, a sports zone with a giant basketball, ice-dancing workshops and even games of laser tag! There will be hot chocolate and coffee for everyone throughout the day, as well as some festive music and some traditional food for purchase. A dazzling fireworks display will end off the fun-filled day!
All are invited to Chartier-de Lobtinière Park from 3-10 PM this coming Saturday! For the full program details, consult the city of Rigaud’s website (in French).
Outdoors in Valleyfield
Not to be outdone, the city of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield will kick off its own winter activities this coming weekend. The city is hosting outdoor events for the following three Saturdays, starting this Saturday with an outdoors day during the afternoon and a snowshoe expedition in the evening. The day will end off with some hot chocolate around the campfire!
Admission is free, and all are welcome! The event will take place at the Parc régional des Îles-de-Saint-Timothée. Activities will go from 1:00-4:00 and the snowshoeing will begin at 7:00 PM. Find out more on the city’s website (in French)!
Have a great and snowy weekend!
