ECO-GRAZING – THE SHEEP ARE BACK THIS SUMMER AT EDGEWATER PARK!

Pointe Claire is happy to have to announce that  Edgewater Park, located along Lake Saint-Louis near Pointe-Claire Village, will once again play host to six sheep this summer, as part of an eco-grazing project.

From June 17 to July 14 and August 5 to 18, six sheep will be grazing the grass, contributing to maintaining the park in an entirely natural way. A shelter will be set up at the park, to accommodate the sheep, and a shepherd will watch over the flock.

“This fun, educational initiative, which brought the community together, is in line with the City’s environmental orientations,” specified the Mayor. “Last summer, citizens took high interest in the project, bringing them together and proving the importance of sustainable development within Pointe-Claire.”

A series of educational activities are planned during this period at Edgewater Park. Here is the schedule:

In case of rain, storms or heat waves, the sheep will be sheltered and activities will be cancelled.

You can buy feed for the sheep for $0.25.

“Whether on foot or by bike, all are invited to drop by Edgewater Park, to have a picnic by Lake Saint-Louis, watch the sheep and take part in the exciting activities being held,” said Mayor Belvedere in conclusion.
