The Saint-Lazare au Galop Festival

364

The second edition of the Saint-Lazare au Galop Festival took place on July 1, 2 and 3, 2016. Having secured the participation of the Knights of Valour for their first performance in Québec, Saint-Lazare seized the opportunity to create a chivalrous festival!

“The challenge was brilliantly taken up for a second consecutive year! “Wow” was on everyone’s lips during the Knights of Valour’s performance! It is not every day that we get to see a medieval jousting tournament! Thank you to our official presenter Assurance Promutuel Vaudreuil-Soulanges, to all our sponsors, visitors, exhibitors and artists as well as to all those who made this festival possible. See you next year on July 8 and 9, 2017”, said Pamela Tremblay, ambassador for the Saint-Lazare au Galop Festival and municipal councillor.

Breathtaking performances!

Visitors went home with a delighted sparkle in their eyes.

In a western ambiance with a medieval twist, the Saint-Lazare au Galop Festival featured more than fifty activities for all ages. The 3-day programme showcased the horse in all its facets. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the cultural workshops, the equestrian, food and cultural fairs, the hugging sessions, the equestrian sport demos and shows, the horse-ball, dog and horse agility and carriage driving demos and the barrel race. The festival had the privilege to welcome distinguished guests such as the Knights of Valour for an extreme joust: knights on horseback charging at each other, wielding their lances and withstanding over 2,000 pounds of impact force! Special guests also included singer-songwriter Ariane Moffatt, the amazing Punkin Patch Farm free-running horse show, Les Calèches Langevin, Écurie Heartford Stable and the Saint-Lazare Carriage Driving Club!

The visitors’ chivalrous souls

Chivalrous: having the generosity and heroism attributed to an ideal night, valiant: a chivalrous soul.

Thanks to the generosity of its visitors, the festival raised:
