Grayscale’s Zach Pandl anticipates that the cryptocurrency industry will experience numerous “smaller victories” in 2025. Pandl, Grayscale’s managing director of research, noted a growing interest in cryptocurrency among pension and endowment fund managers, who had previously overlooked the industry for a decade. He expects 2025 to bring about increased institutional adoption, enhanced legislative frameworks from Congress, and the potential for Bitcoin to be recognized as a US reserve asset.
He projected that Bitcoin could reach a value of $500,000 by 2030 during a conversation with Ric Edelman, the founder of the Digital Assets Council of Financial Professionals. Pandl observed that pension and endowment funds are starting to include cryptocurrency in their portfolios, with some managers already assigning up to 5% of their allocations to crypto investments.
Pandl also predicted that sovereign wealth funds outside the United States would increase their crypto holdings in the near future. Additionally, he highlighted the significant potential for institutional adoption of Ethereum, describing it as one of the most pivotal open-source software projects ever. He expects decentralized finance, real-world assets, and artificial intelligence tokens to capture further institutional interest.
These developments come as Donald Trump, considered potentially the most pro-crypto US president, prepares for his inauguration.
