This joyous news has come to us none other than from Healy’s mother, Denise Welch, who’s an acclaimed actress in her own right across the Pond.
Popular for sharing her insights on the ITV talk show, “Loose Women,” Welch couldn’t help but verify the engagement rumors swirling around her popstar son that had piqued the interest of fans. The proud mother conveyed, “I’ve obviously known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged”. Bearing great excitement she revealed, “And I woke up this morning to the fact that they put it on Instagram.”
Indeed, the couple’s modern declaration of love came into spotlight on Tuesday night. Bechtel, an epitome of radiance, shared an Instagram story showcasing her left hand elegantly graced by an oversized black gemstone ring on her ring finger. Elevating the intriguing factor, she captioned the image with an enigmatic message: “Marrying The 1975 is very Brat,” directly tagging Healy. This was a seemingly clever nod to Charli XCX’s hit album “BRAT”. The engaged duo was among the audience at Charli’s performance in New York City that evening. Adding to the intrigue, Charli fleetingly shares her life bliss with The 1975’s George Daniel. To cap off the Instagram engagement revelation, Healy shared the image on his personal story.
Emerging out of the reveal’s Instagram haze, Welch added, “Instagram official!” Teasing more details about the charmingly extravagant black diamond, she said, “He’s got engaged to Gabriella Bechtel — Gabbriette, as she’s more affectionately referred to.
