A few months ago I decided I wanted to try my hand at a spaghetti fundraiser of my own for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the West Island. Having participated in many, I thought it would be nice to reciprocate to all of you have invited me to your events on the West Island and beyond.
Those of you that know me realize I was certain from the start that not one soul would buy a ticket and I would be sitting there with crickets eating pasta. Ask my partner in crime, Lucy who was also scheduled to be sitting with me alone in a chalet at the N4N Food drive last year, The N4N Food drive yielded more than 750 cases of food and will be an annual event. Thanks to you Lucy for never letting me down and taking charge of the #Canada150 video for our community.
The Spag dinner turned out to be the same. The generosity of this community as always went above and beyond. I am humbled by all the help and generous gifts of so many. I am also humbled by the more than 130 people who took the time to spend a few hours celebrating volunteers at BBBSWI at the Dome in Kirkland. Thanks to the great staff at the Dome who worked tirelessly.
We raised $5,500 thanks to generous donors such as Desjardins West Island, 94.7 Hits FM, Remax, KW Prestige, Edible Arrangements, Aqua Spa Lyne Giroux, Mansfield Gym, Knight of Columbus, Kiva Boutique, Party MTL Selfie Booth, Ron Massad, Diperie DDO and MHC Cakes.
Most importantly, I would like to thank Francesca Corso, Executive Director of BBBS and the Board of Directors. This is a team that I would not trade for anything. We have fun, we work hard, and we laugh a lot. Thanks to all of you for your help and support. See you at the Rib Fest!!!
XOXO
