The state of Tennessee is on high alert as law enforcement agencies tirelessly endeavor to locate the offspring of Nashville’s top police officer, John Drake Jr. He is implicated in a grave incident that unfolded on a quiet Saturday in the suburban precincts of La Vergne, leaving two of its police personnel critically wounded.

An urgent blue alert, indicating serious public safety and law enforcement risk, has been released by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. John Drake Jr, the alleged gunman, is a 38-year-old convicted felon. As the bureau furthers their efforts to nab this culprit, they caution the public of his potentially volatile and perilous nature.

Nashville’s Police Chief, John Drake, affirmed a connection that no parent would ever desire – the accused is his son. He expressed profound shock and sorrow at the incident, while simultaneously extending his thoughts and prayers to the injured policemen who fell victim to this gristly crime.

Chief Drake regretfully disclosed his son’s years of criminal activity and his convicted felon status. Despite guidance offered throughout Drake Jr’s formative years, the familial ties have long since frayed. “He has not been a part of my life for quite some time,” Chief Drake declared.

Details reveal that the shooting transpired amid a physical struggle that unfolded as the policemen were apprehending Drake Jr in relation to a theft of a car. With a sudden turn of events, the suspect managed to produce a handgun, subsequently discharging it.

As per Chief Christopher Moews of the La Vergne PD, the wounded officers, both relatively new to the force, sustained gunshot injuries to the shoulder, groin and forearm. They were rushed for medical assistance to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. One officer was subsequently discharged, with the other still under medical observation in stable condition.

The Tennessee Bureau has released a physical description of the alleged assailant, depicting him as a man of 195 pounds and 5’11”. Drake Jr has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen near Lake Forest Drive, sporting a black tee shirt festooned with a hockey mask and grey sweat pants.

In light of this incident, the city was put under a Shelter-In-Place order for most of the Saturday following the incident. With the immediate threat to public safety mitigated, the order was rescinded post-midnight. However, as the city resumes normalcy, law enforcement maintains their relentless pursuit of Drake Jr. The state is keeping its commitment to nab the suspect, even floating a $2,500 reward for any credible leads that expedite his arrest.
