The inaugural edition of TEDxSainteAnnedeBellevue will be taking place at the John Abbott College Theatre on September 15.

“A group of us, young professionals, students, and West Islanders,” explained event organizer Daniel LaSalle Sutherland, “came together over the past year we thought that a local TEDx event would be a great way to highlight the West Island’s and particularly Ste-Anne’s colourful spirit and bring the community together.” Rhonda Massad, West Island Blog, West Island News, TEDx Sainte Anne De Bellvue, John Abbott College

Speakers at the event will include an explorer who tackled Everest and the two Poles, local up-and-coming musicians, award-winning entrepreneurs, an MD who is also faculty and a humanitarian and a Chief at the United Nations who will tackle the issue of globalization.

“We also thought that the TEDx mission is especially relevant today,” LaSalle Sutherland stated. “That of bringing together diverse individuals who truly bring experience and expertise to the ideas they will share, some of which we may disagree with, but nonetheless will make us think – as TED puts it, provoking conversations that matter.”
