Pop superstar Taylor Swift returned to Arrowhead Stadium on Monday night to watch the Kansas City Chiefs, and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after finishing the U.S. leg of her record-setting Eras Tour.
It turned out to be a memorable night for both Swift and Kelce. Swift had the opportunity to celebrate Kelce’s outstanding performance, which included 14 catches for 100 yards in a driving rain, and a victory for the Chiefs. Trailing by a touchdown in the fourth quarter, the Chiefs scored twice to take the lead and pushed the game into overtime. They won the coin toss and drove for a touchdown, securing a 30-24 win.
Kelce, who had fumbled earlier in the game, made two critical catches on the decisive drive in overtime, tying his career-best for receptions in a regular-season game with 14, equaling a performance in a 2023 playoff win against Jacksonville. His 16 targets from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes were just one shy of his career high.
“He does a great job of finding space,” Mahomes remarked, “and having DeAndre (Hopkins) out there takes some of the pressure off, so not all the attention is on him the entire time. And whenever he gets going, man, he’s hard to stop.”
Swift is finally getting a chance to pause after concluding three shows at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, wrapping up the U.S. portion of her tour. She will resume her tour in Canada with the first of six shows at Rogers Centre in Toronto on Nov. 14, followed by three shows in December at BC Place in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Swift’s high-profile romance with Kelce began last season, when he invited the “Anti-Hero” singer to watch him play in a September matchup against the Bears. Since then, the couple has been frequently seen together, often with cameras capturing their every move.
Swift arrived at Arrowhead Stadium in a black outfit and a Chiefs coat on Monday night, the eve of the presidential election. The 14-time Grammy winner has expressed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris, generating a stir when Harris’ rival, Donald Trump, mentioned Swift’s friend and Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, as a supporter of his campaign.
While Patrick Mahomes has avoided endorsing any candidate in the election, he has encouraged people to register to vote.
