Alberta report 300 new cases of COVID-19, including 54, which involve variants on Sunday. According to a preliminary update posted by Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the provincial chief officer of health posted the preliminary update of Sunday.

Hinshaw went on to say that no death has been reported in the province. The province is also ongoing with the vaccination with 290 391 shots administered, including 90 937 Albertans vaccinated the two-dose.

The government has also announced that it would increase the vaccination rollout to include those below the age of 75, beginning on March 15. All adults in Alberta are also expected to receive the first dose by the end of June.

On Saturday, the province announced 314 new cases, with 36 involving the variants. Also, 247 people are hospitalized, with 42 who are intensive care. Sunday’s estimates will bring the total cases to 653. More updates are expected on Monday, according to Hinshaw.
