The City of Pointe-Claire is pleased to invite residents to attend the first series of four free outdoor performances with the theme Summer beats in the parks.
This new and varied programming helps make culture accessible to all in addition to enlivening our parks and offering quality performances in our own living environment.
The first event, Oktopus, with the theme of world music, will be held on Thursday, July 21, at 7:30 p.m. at Alexandre-Bourgeau Park. Through an eclectic array of instruments, the group will revisit the traditional music of Eastern Europe with tremendous energy and creativity.
A family performance is scheduled for the following Thursday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m., also at Alexandre-Bourgeau Park. The CréaSon group, which combines reuse and recycling to create original instruments with rich sound, will present a feast for the eyes and ears for everyone! Sure to delight!
Blues will be featured on Thursday, August 4, at 7:30 p.m. at Valois Park, with an opportunity to appreciate the powerful and raspy voice of Martin Goyette, accompanied by four experienced musicians, and groove outdoors.
The series will conclude by the water with Momentos Flamencos, a traditional flamenco performance with a festive and captivating intensity at Grande-Anse Park on Monday, August 15, also at 7:30 p.m.
Enjoy this new programming in a festive summer atmosphere that brings musical culture to a place near you. The event begins on July 21.
We recommend that you bring your own chair. In case of rain, the performances will be held in Stewart Hall Cultural Centre, located at 176 Du Bord-du-Lac ̶ Lakeshore Road.
