A large Sphinx replica has been placed on Las Vegas Strip at Luxor Hotel and Casino. The pyramid-shaped Luxor Hotel and Casino is on the west side of Las Vegas near Mandalay hotel and casino.
The Sphinx has joined the silver and black Raider Nation by wearing an eye patch featuring the Las Vegas NFL team logo.
The eye patch was applied before the Monday night home game against Baltimore Ravens. Raiders have used the black patch over their right eye as their logo for a long time.
Raiders was initially based in Oakland, Los Angeles, but later moved to Vegas, where they play at Allegiant Stadium, just west of Luxor and Mandalay Bay casino resorts.
The majority of Raiders fans are based in California and are known as Raider Nation. This will be the second season Raiders playing in Las Vegas.
The enthusiasm of Monday’s game is evident with tickets prices. In the StubGub sites, the cheapest ticket on Sunday was selling at $180 for an upper corner. Tickets for seats reserved for the club section and near the field were selling at $3, 000 each.
