“OMG – that was really good!”

That is what I said upon leaving Souvlaki Bar in St. Laurent.  To start off, our waiter Costa, was top of the line.  He was attentive and answered the million questions I had.  I always have a million questiSouvlaki BAr, Rhonda Massad, West Island Blog, West Island News, Greek Food, ons. The menu which doubles as a place mat is divided into categories.  I chose the roasted peppers sprinkled with feta cheese. Amazing.  Dan had the feta cheese wrapped in filo pastry drizzled with honey. Also excellent.

I was hungry and did not read all the way through it. I went out wanting a souvlaki pita wrap.  My all time favorite Greek meal happens to be lamb chops.  I did not see that they had them but managed to have Costa bring me one as a side dish.  It was perfect.  I loved my pita wrap don’t get me wrong but the lamb chops were so delicious I will have to return for more.

The pita was soft and fluffy. The tzatziki was perfect.  Customers have a choice of fries or traditional roasted Greek style potatoes.  Dan had fries and I had the roasted.  Both were delicious but I would order the fries next time. They were golden and lightly salted.  The choices are numerous and they portions are ample.

The atmosphere is modern with a traditional Greek feel.  I recommend a reservation, we got lucky and got a table but the place was pretty busy.
