Southland Casino Racing in West Memphis, Arkansas, is offering job positions, with some applicants getting immediate jobs and bonuses.
The resort has scheduled interviews starting on 12th August and going through 2nd September. The casino resort is located across the great Mississippi River. Interviews will be conducted between 11 to 3 pm in the Kennel Club on the racing Mezzanine.
The resort is offering job positions that include cooks, cage cashiers, slot tech supervisors, dealers, and hosts. Some jobs are eligible for a $1, 000 bonus, and some applicants getting a job immediately after an interview.
Southland casino seeks to hire more employees as it undergoes a $250 million expansion, adding 20 story and 300 room hotels. The expansion is set to be complete in 2022.
Meanwhile, the greyhound track at Southland is ceasing its operation in 2022, leaving Iowa and West Virginia the only states with legal dog racing.
Southland’s net gaming win declined from $20.5 million to $16.9 million in the previous month. This is after the traffic flowing to West Memphis from Memphis in Tennessee was hampered by the closure of Interstate 40 Bridge.
The bridge is one of the busiest freight bridges in the US and was closed for two months as it underwent repairs. The bridge reopened on 31st July, restoring the westbound lanes into West Memphis to full traffic.
The MGM Resorts is another gaming entity seeking to hire 3, 000 employees for Jobs opening its Las Vegas casino. MGM resort human resource director claim that the casino is offering a wide array of jobs. However, potential employees seem hesitant to work in a large group during the COVID-19 pandemic.
