Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is set to rise to an estimated $336 million after no participants managed to match all six numbers in Monday night’s $319 million drawing.
Monday’s results were as follows:
- Numbers: 18-30-31-52-63
- Powerball: 22
- Power Play: 2x
With the odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot standing at a staggering 1 in 292.2 million, according to Powerball.com, it’s no surprise that the prize remains unclaimed. The jackpot previously reset after a single California ticket scooped the $44 million prize on August 19.
This is not the first time the Powerball jackpot has experienced a reset. Just one week before, on August 12, a fortunate player in Pennsylvania walked away with $214 million. Another instance of a jackpot reset occurred after the $139 million drawing on July 3.
One of the most notable Powerball wins took place on November 7, 2022, when a ticket holder in California won an unprecedented $2.04 billion, which amounted to $997.6 million after taxes—the largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history. In total, Powerball has seen jackpots surge past the $1 billion mark five times.
The Mega Millions game has similarly impressive figures, surpassing the $1 billion threshold six times. Among these, the largest payout was a whopping $1.603 billion jackpot, won by a player in Florida on August 8. As with Powerball, the Mega Millions jackpot continues to grow until a ticket matches all six numbers, including the Mega Millions Gold Ball or the Powerball, depending on the game.
