On Wednesday, Saskatchewan reported 53 new cases of COVID-19. This is the largest number of new cases reported since public health restrictions were lifted on July 11. The day with the largest number of new COVID-19 cases in the province was July 8, when 114 new cases were reported.
Right now, the province has 276 known active cases and the total number of cases in the province since the beginning of the pandemic is 49,525.
The new cases Wednesday were located in:
- Far northwest: 24.
- Far north central: two.
- Far northeast: two.
- Northwest: nine.
- North central: one.
- Saskatoon: five.
- Regina: four.
- Southwest: one.
- South central: one.
- Pending location: four.
Of 59 people who were brought to the hospital, 10 are in intensive care. On Tuesday, Saskatchewan administered another 5,413 doses. This means that so far, 1,358,720 have received at least one shot of the vaccine.
Saskatchewan spokesperson stated that the province will be receiving a “record” number of Pfizer doses through July 2021.
