Noah Balta of the Richmond Tigers has been charged with assault by New South Wales Police following an alleged altercation at a sports club in Mulwala, situated on the NSW-Victoria border. The incident reportedly resulted in a 27-year-old man suffering a head laceration and being taken to Yarrawonga Hospital in stable condition. Balta, 25, was arrested at Mulwala Police Station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in Corowa Local Court on January 30. The Richmond Football Club confirmed the charge but declined further comment as legal proceedings are underway. Balta, who has played 104 games for the Tigers and won a premiership in 2020, recently signed a seven-year contract extension with the club, securing his tenure until 2032.
