January kicks us off with lots of winter outdoor fun in Pierrefonds and Pointe-Claire. We also have the Red & White Event celebrating the West Island businesswomen philanthropists on January 27th. 1Winter Activity Launch – Pierrefonds
To start the new year, come and discover some fun winter activities that can be enjoyed in the park. Equipment such as cross-country skis, snowshoes and fatbikes will be available to rent. Check out the introductory to cross-country skiing and waxing clinic by Sail. Enjoy a presentation of cani-cross by Les foulées du nord. Also on the agenda is cross-country skiing for people with reduced mobility by the CIVA organization.

2Pointe-Claire Winter Ice-Breaker
Outdoor fun for the whole family to enjoy, with pre-novice hockey games, ice sculptures, dog-sled rides, music, and more! Cost is free!

3The People’s Gospel Choir of Montreal – Pointe-Claire
Continue the Holiday Spirit with the People’s Gospel Choir of Montreal -an upbeat and intimate evening of song suitable for the whole family! Proceeds will go to the music ministry of St. John Fisher Church and towards the Choir’s 2020 maritime tour.

4Holiday Time at the Zoo
The Holiday season at the zoo is always magical! Fun activities for the whole family are on the program! Enjoy some “Elf Animation”: the Ecomuseum Zoo’s elves are very busy during the holiday season! Five times a day between 10:30 and 15:30, they will deliver gifts to the zoo animals! Want to go on a gnome hunt? Three gnomes are hiding at the Ecomuseum Zoo … and you have to help find them! Don’t forget storytime! Four times during the holiday season, zoologists at the Ecomuseum Zoo will be waiting for you for a sweet moment with your family.

5Strike Out Cancer
Come out for an afternoon of fun at the 10th annual Strike Out Cancer Bowling event with proceeds going to the Montreal Children’s Hospital. The Sian Bradwell Fund purchases priority medical equipment for children’s hospitals (in Montreal, Toronto and Hamilton) for the diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer. Funds are raised through donations collected year-round.

7Grand Blizzard – 1970’s-themed Party
For the 16th consecutive year, the Scouts of the 2nd Saint-Raphaël group present the Grand Blizzard! Come live a hippie evening worthy of the 70s and enjoy a spaghetti dinner. Profits will go to the Ile-Bizard scout group.

NOVA West Island and the Montreal Canadiens Alumni are proud to team up to play a charity game of hockey for young and old who enjoy the sport and want to support the organization that has been caring for the West Island community for over a century.

Beyond the West Island
Luminothérapie is Quebec’s most important multidisciplinary competition for temporary participatory public art installations. For the last 10 years, it has presented a captivating and original interactive winter experience in the Quartier des Spectacles with a large-scale installation in Place des Festivals.

LA FETE DES NEIGES
The Fête des neiges de Montréal is an outdoor family event that takes place over 4 weekends and is dedicated to discovering and celebrating the joys of winter. Back at Parc Jean-Drapeau for a 37th edition, the Fête des neiges brings together thousands of visitors in search of a unique winter experience every year. Organized by the Société du Parc Jean-Drapeau, this popular family-oriented winter event has programming geared toward enjoying the outdoors and offers many shows and a wide array of activities.
