The Holiday Season in the West Island brings out the best in our community. From parades to food drives, breakfast with Santa to outdoor light displays – there are so many ways to give back and enjoy this magical time of year.
1Hudson Santa Claus Parade
The annual Hudson Santa Claus Parade starts at 1 pm in front of Westwood Senior Campus (69 Cote St-Charles), turns east along Main Road and ends at the Community Centre (394 Main Road). Main Road is closed from 12:30 so get to your spot early, or park in the St Thomas parking lot until 1:30 pm. After the parade, come to the Community Center, have a cup of hot chocolate and meet Santa.

2Dorval Tree Lighting and Holiday Festivities
Start off the Holiday Season with this great evening of entertainment and fun. Enjoy live music by the Ramblers and the Dorval Elementary School Choir. Stay for Santa’s visit and Tree Lighting ceremony. Roam the Christmas market, food kiosks and take in the street entertainment and much more!

3Pet Holiday Photos for a Cause
Looking to take some Holiday pictures of your pets? On December 7th, Clinique vétérinaire Mobile Plus Inc. will have a volunteer photographer on site to take pictures of your furry best friend. Session cost is $15 (CASH ONLY) for a 10-minute session. Includes: 2 digital solo photos and 2 digital family photos. $5/additional photo. All proceeds will be donated to Animatch & Rosie Animal Adoption.

Santa & his elves are coming to Plaza Pointe-Claire! Saturday, December 7th, 10am – 3pm. Free pictures with Santa and Christmas activities await you and your family. All donations will benefit West Island Community Shares. Plus… Food Drive benefiting On Rock Community Services.

5Breakfast with Santa – Hudson
Breakfast with Santa is an annual tradition at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre. Breakfast is served by the Mayor and Councillors. On the menu: pancakes, scrambled eggs, pork sausages, baked beans, potatoes, toast, fruit, juice, coffee and hot chocolate. Come have breakfast with Santa! Places are limited!

Buy a light in memory of/in honour of a loved one. Outdoor tree lighting ceremony draw, hot chocolate, chilli, soup and more! Minimum donation: 5.00$ per light

8Stuff a Sock for Shelter
With the holidays approaching Royal LePage Le Village is asking people to ‘Stuff a Sock for Shelter’. Many of the women and children who take refuge in the shelters do so leaving all their personal possessions behind and we would like to provide them with a small kit of ‘essential and whimsical’ items. The socks can be dropped at their offices. If you would like to be involved but don’t have the time, you can donate at http://bit.ly/rlpVillageSock2019 and they will be happy to ‘stuff a sock’ for you.

9Lights on Boischatel WICA Fundraiser Evening
Each holiday season, “Lights on Boischatel” put on a truly magical Christmas light display with both computerized and traditional lights synchronized to music. They broadcast on 87.9 FM so you can enjoy the show both from your car or on foot in front of the house. Donations to WICA appreciated.

10Kitchen Kids Baking for Hanukkah
Hands-on cooking class 6-12 years. Children cook their own meals and then eat their creations during the class. On the menu: Hanukkah Doughnuts, Apple Pie Rugelach, Dreidel Cookies. Cost: $15
